Night photography is quite different from day time snaps and knowing how to use your camera in the dark opens up another realm of photographic beauty. 
This workshop continues the discussion from "Essentials of Night Photography Workshop". 


This Instructor Lead course will walk through the entire night capture process, covering the following topics:

  • Challenges of night photography

  • Overview of camera settings

  • Lens considerations

  • Focusing

  • "Night photography etiquette"

  • Planning astro-landscape shots (such as Milky Way and star trails)

  • White balance considerations

  • Exposure

  • Using high ISO and dark frames for Milky Way photography.

  • Best practices for processing

  • In-depth post processing

  • Software tools

  • Various methods to process night images.

  • Stacking

  • Includes an image critique (optional)

The 3-hour course will cover these topics in depth. Students will gain a solid grounding in advanced night photography, post-processing techniques and best practices essential for success.


Students who complete this class will be able to capture and process cityscapes at night, and astro-landscapes.


Moderately experienced photographers and above will benefit from this course.
